Pierce was a facilitator on the court for the Coyotes in his first year at point guard and also helped make life miserable for opponents on defense. Pierce averaged 6.5 points and 2.7 rebounds per game, led the team in steals with 60 and assists with 88. He had a season-high 15 points against Central Washington, a season-high nine assists against Grand Canyon.
Pierce played two years of basketball at Cuyamaca Community College in San Diego where he was an all-state selection and his conference player of the year. He was also all-conference as a freshman. Pierce averaged 10 points and five assists a game in 2005-06 with a high game of 34 points and 13 assists.

Pierce is a communications major who would like a career in sports broadcasting or journalism He has volunteered at Calvary Baptist Church near his home. He enjoys various sports and poker. His mother is Jonita Pierce.
